Tien Minh to compete at Chinese Taiwan Open 2013

Vietnam’s badminton Nguyen Tien Minh will be selected as No.1 seed to play at the Chinese Taiwan Open 2013 due to open in China on September 3.
Chinese Taiwan Open 2013, Tien Minh, world-level competition

He is scheduled to meet 19-year-old Victor Axelsen from Denmark, who is seeded No.3 in the tournament and ranks 23rd in the world.

Recently, Tien Minh was placed 5th in the latest Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings and helped Pune Pistons club secure its leading position in India’s first badminton league (IBL) tournament.

* Badminton ace Minh keeps top 5 ranking

Vietnam’s top badminton star, Nguyen Tien Minh, has maintained his spot as the world’s fifth best player following the 2013 World Badminton Championships in Guangdong, China.

Earlier, Minh smashed his way to a bronze medal in the men’s singles, becoming the first Vietnamese shuttler ever to win a medal at a world-level competition.

There have been no changes in the latest Badminton World Federation top ten, which was released on August 22, and Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei is still the best ranked player in the world.
